Postage stamps and envelopes dedicated to the declaration of Nakhchivan City as the Capital of Islamic Culture in 2018 have been put into circulation.

As it is known, with the decision at the sixth conference of culture ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in October 2009 in Baku, Nakhchivan was declared the capital of Islamic culture for 2018.

 According to the Order signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on  March 2, 2016, at its first meeting of the Organization Committee held on 25th of September, the direction of the preparations was determined in connection with the declaration of  Nakhchivan City as the capital of the Islamic Culture for 2018, and the project  of action plans were discussed.

 

 The Action Plan also includes releasing the post stamps and envelopes.

100,000 post stamps and 100,000 envelopes produced by “Azermarka” Limited Liability Company (LLC) have already been brought to the autonomous republic by the order of the Ministry of Communications and New Technologies of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and have been put into circulation. The "Capital of Islamic Culture of Nakhchivan - 2018" logo is embedded on the standardized postcard intended for domestic and international posting. The cost of the stamp is 50 copecks. The size of the postcard, which is a description of the logo of "Nakhchivan Capital of Islamic Culture - 2018", is 220 x 112 millimeters. In addition, 100 booklets of gifts have been prepared  in which  12 stamps and one first day envelope with  a logo of “Hachadagh”, "Capital of Islamic Culture of Nakhchivan-2018" and "Gulustan" tomb described on .
